Psychotherapy of Psychotherapists in Korea


Abstract
The purpose of the present paper is to clarify- the present status and the future perspectives of psychotherapy of psychotherapists in Korea.
First, the author rei-iewed literature on training analysis or personal therapy of various psychotherapy schools including psychoanalysis. He also discusses( controversial issues regarding the institutionalization of training analysis in Western culture.
The author delineated the current state of psychotherapy education and training in Korea; compositions of practising psychotherapists, and their recent trends.
He suggested reinforcement of psychotherapy education in the university hospital, and the urgent need for systematic and cordinated activity with the aid of the institutionalization of psychotherapy of psychotherapists in Korea.
Finally, the author shared the same opinion with D. S. Rhee who repeatedly stressed that Tao and the traditional Korean culture is highly relevant to modern psychoanalytical psychotherapy of the West, and Korean psychotherapists should study- the traditional Tao of Korea as well as Western dynamic psychotherapy.
